Recently, many Mac users have been seeing articles in the media about current malware using stolen signatures and even being able to bypass the standard protection offered by Gatekeeper. These dangers can be thwarted more effectively by leveraging the power of high-performance protection software. The current test with 13 protection products for consumer users and corporate users shows which products have proven their worth. A comparative assessment of Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions was carried out in February 2025 by AV-TEST, commissioned by Kaspersky. This evaluation aimed to measure the performance of selected VPN services against unencrypted reference connections, as well as to review their included features, implemented security, IP protection capabilities, and the public transparency of the vendor behind the product.

Groups of malware are constantly on the lookout for new ways to infiltrate Windows systems. They might disguise their malicious code as a harmless Windows utility app or inject attack code into open source software so it can act as springboard for cruel attacks later on. The AV-TEST lab recently conducted its Advanced Threat Protection test – or ATP test, for short – and evaluated the response of 21 protection products for consumer and corporate users in individual attacks. The lab documented step by step how and when the defensive mechanisms of security packages engaged and fended off cyberattackers.
